October 30th Seals at Sound

Just opposite the Somerfield supermarket in Lerwick is an excellent place to watch both Grey and Common seals hauled up on the rocks just a few feet from the carpark. This Grey seal despite its name was dark brown and fairly small compared to the others nearby. Possibly a younger animal.It kept shifting its weight and craning its neck to look behind it.
